Experience Hartville offers an easy solution for family vacations, with everything from cozy overnight accommodations, delicious eats, delightful kid’s activities, eclectic shopping and plenty of places to romp and explore.

For your home base while you’re in Hartville, book a stay at the cozy Comfort Suites. The modern, wood-accented rooms feature furniture made in Holmes County’s Amish Country. During your stay, you’ll enjoy amenities like an indoor pool, fitness center, free hot breakfast and an on-site convenience store.

Around the Table

We all know the importance of gathering together for a family meal. It’s a time to slow down and reconnect over home-cooked food. At Hartville Kitchen, hearty, made-from-scratch lunches and dinners are the perfect gathering point for your entire clan. The spacious dining rooms are comfortably appointed with dark woods, carpeting and chandeliers. Pull up a chair and peruse the menu — with just one glance, you’ll know you won’t leave hungry!

Hartville Kitchen’s menu is carefully crafted from more than 55 years of welcoming and feeding guests. Start with chicken noodle soup and a side salad with house-made dressing, then try the famous Gerber chicken — delivered fresh daily from Amish Country and pressure fried to keep the chicken juicy and delicious! Or try a hot roast beef sandwich (made with hand-cut beef) and fresh mashed potatoes. The popular sweet potato casserole can serve as a side or a dessert — just add a dollop of whipped cream for extra sweetness! Be sure to look up the daily specials, too. They range from succulent boneless baked chicken to savory Swiss steak, tender meatloaf to mouth-watering turkey and stuffing. Hartville Kitchen also caters to gluten free needs and, of course, has a kids’ menu featuring all their favorites.

But you can’t leave without dessert, right? The Hartville Kitchen includes a full-service bakery. You can order from 21 varieties of pies, dessert cakes, ice cream, milkshakes and seasonal treats from the dining room, or pick up sweets to-go on your way out. You’ll find the bakery case by following your nose to the smell of fresh bread. It’s hard to choose a favorite, so just go with a big group and try a slice of everything, from Dutch apple to blueberry, cherry crumb to peach, banana cream to coconut cream (which also comes in a dessert cake version!). Then bring home fresh breads, strudels, cookies or cakes.

Hartville Kitchen also sells a full range of items to supplement your home pantry. Stock your shelves with extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars, salad dressings, dips, jams, jellies, pickled veggies and barbecue sauce. These seasonings and sauces are the perfect way to bring home the taste of Hartville!

Sweet Tooth

Hartville is also the perfect place to indulge your sweet tooth. Everyone will feel like a kid again when you stroll the aisles of the Hartville Kitchen Candy Shop! The store features homemade fudge, delicate chocolates and nostalgic treats from decades past. Start first with the trays upon trays of chocolates. You’ll find buckeyes and meltaways from local Honadle’s Fine Chocolates, dark chocolate cashew clusters from Coblentz Chocolates in Walnut Creek, plus a line of sugar-free candies from Asher’s Chocolates. Then order a pound or two from Hartville Kitchen’s 25 flavors of fudge, and dig through colorful delights like Jelly Bellies, M&Ms, gummy candies and fresh-roasted Heggy’s Nuts from Canton.

Discover even more delectable sweets hidden within The Hartville MarketPlace! Cool down with a cup or a cone from Sugar & Ice. Choose from over 16 different flavors of ice cream and new Italian gelato! Pick up a dozen tiny treats from Peace, Love and Little Donuts, which specializes in funky flavors like Strawberry French Toast. Chocolate Creations carefully crafts a variety of chocolates: cherry cordials, key lime truffles, milk chocolate toffees and sugar-free peanut clusters. But everyone’s taste is a little different, and their Creation Station lets you customize your very own chocolate bar. Choose from white, milk or dark chocolate, then select from 20 add-ins like nuts, dried fruits, pretzels and sprinkles. They’ll mix up your candy bar and cool it, so you can take it home!
